Rush Direct started operating in 2003. We are the international branch of Total Alimentos. The directors decided to locate our offices here in Chicago because it was considered the best location regarding expected costumers and logistics. We are located in Wood Dale- IL, just behind O'Hare airport.

Total Alimentos is the largest factory of pet food in South America. Last year we had 120 milion dollars in sales. Total's plant is located in the state of Minas Gerais, in Brazil, and has over 5.3 million square feet.

Total has extensive experience manufacturing dry dog and cat food, as well as treats. We specialize in extruded and co extruded products, utilizing state of the art Wenger machines. Unlike other factories, Total has a whole section designed only for the production of the treats. In our team we have Dr. Jim Corbin, PHD and Professor Emeritus at the University of Illinois. Every product is extensively tested on our labs and our kennels, with 180 dogs and 90 cats.

We utilize the highest standards and procedures in the line of production. We are HACCP, ISO 9001 and GMP certificated. There's not many factories in the world that can say that.

Total has been supplying brazilian market for over 30 years, and recently started its international operations.

Currently our hottest selling item is the Big Bone, a co extruded treat for dogs made mainly of rice and casein. It is good for the dogs teeth because they can chew, and they love the meaty flavor. We also have the same product on the "Mr. Bone" brand, the only difference is the size, designed to reach a specific price point. These bones are being considered the best alternative to rawhide, since they allow the dog to use their teeths, but also because it is highly digestible. Unlike the rawhide it won't get stuck in the dogs intestinal tract.

Another sucessful item is our Party Platter and Meow Luv line. They are high grade products, but because of some changes in logistics we are able to bring those treats at excelent prices. They have been making a huge sucess, the pets go crazy for them. The Party Platter line is comprized of our best selling treats in the past. The Breath & Tartar is excellent for the dog's health, as well as being fun for the owner and highly palatable. The Italian Sausage and Chunk Beef are also specially formulated for the dog's sense of taste, and many people use them as training reward. The Meow Luv line is a great breaktrough regarding treats. If you browse any pet store, you will see there are not many options on cat treats. That's because it is very difficult to produce treats for cats since they are very criterious about what they like. This line is a result of several months of testing and analysis to reach the right formulation.

A great addition to our line was the Convenience packs. We currently carry 3 products, Party Platter Italian Sausage, Canine and Big Beef. They are the same as the Party Platter line, only with the previous name we used. It is great for small stores and to be placed next to cashiers, so constumers can grab a bag on the go. Recent articles in magazines all tell that the next big trend in the treat business is "to go" packs, to get consumers on a impulse buy.

Our other items appeal to the consumers on their uniqueness and quality. Almost everyone is amazed when they see the cereal and energy bar, cookies and the jerky. The are high quality products that have great costumer acceptance.
